There are many reasons why we might need memory upgrade on our computer or laptop. One of the reasons is because of the upgrade in the recent operating system. Every new version of operating systems needs more RAM to operate than its older version. This is for the reason that the newer version usually offers more functionality, thus requires more memory. If you have an operating system which is taking up more RAM, the rest of the applications in your system will suffer if you do not have additional memory.
Recently updated business applications is another reason why one might need to upgrade laptop or desktop computer’s memory. If you install updated versions of applications you are using, or if you have installed new applications, you will surely need additional memory to keep these programs running well. Especially when you are operating on different applications simultaneously, each application requires certain amount of memory to work efficiently. It is also important to remember that your hardware uses some of the computer’s memory. If you are using a scanner or a printer, they also utilize part of your computer’s memory.
To upgrade your memory, you need to switch your computer or laptop off and handle you memory card gently. Open the panel using a screw driver. You can find the memory modules in the slots and they are locked at the ends with some small clips. If you want to swap out an existing memory card, remove the existing memory by pulling the memory modules after you have unlocked the clips. If you are to add the memory card, just locate it to the empty slot. Next, put the new memory module into the slot firmly and clip it at the strips’ both ends. Lastly, close the laptop’s panel back in its place using a screw driver again. Your laptop will then automatically detect the new RAM capacity when it starts.
