Who: Corinna May What: The World Trade Centers When: 7:00 - 9:00 am. September 11, 2001 Where: London, Ontario
Looking back at 9/11 as a student in high school gives me a new take on the tragic event. At the time I was in grade 3 and I didn't exactly know what was going on. I was probably at school and I heard about it from my mom who was in shock. I was concerned a little bit and I did know that something terrible had happened. Now looking at some of the photos I get an eerie feeling and become sad at how much disaster occured and how vengeful people can be. We live in a very cruel and violent world and horrific events like this should not be happening. The attacks on the World Trade Centers and the events of September 11, 2001 are events that will haunt people for many years. Although Osama Bin Laden was wrong, I do not think that war was the right answer. By declaring war they made the world become more violent and had many soldiers and people die because of it. I did not think that the event would affect me in a huge way at the time, but looking back I now realize that it was one of the biggest events that would affect me for the rest of my life. The events that followed, war, deaths, poverty, will always affect me, and the families who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attack and the families who lost loved ones in battle, and many more.
