When I first heard of the attack i was sitting on the playground in front of my school during morning recess. I didn't really react to the news, as I barely knew what the World Trade Centers were. I don't remember the rest of the school day well, just that all the teachers were all really down and acting strange. After I got home, I wanted to watch TV but before I could, my mom told me exactly what happened, and why it was so horrible (how many people died etc). I still wasn't exactly sure why the entire world was so sad for the USA being attacked, but I was too young to understand.
Now that I'm older, I see why it had such a devastating impact on the entire world. Stocks, airports, security and world peace were greatly affected by the 9/11 attacks. I don't think how the president reacted to the news was the greatest, but it was a huge shock to all government officials as well. Hopefully something like this never happens again, but I wouldn't count on it.
