A few years ago, you could say it was the worst Christmas for me. It probably was. I had strep throat. I first got it around the 23rd. I was so mad. That was the first and only Christmas that I was sick. I remember going to mass on Christmas Eve. My throat was killing me. I was just waiting for the end the whole time. I just wanted to go home and get our Christmas Eve party over with. I had to take the nastiest medicine ever. That night when I was laying in bed, I was so frustrated. I was thinking, "Why did I have to get sick on Christmas? Why couldn't someone else have gotten sick?" When I woke up, my throat was still stinging but I didn't care because it was Christmas. I wasn't going to let some silly little virus dampen my spirits. It wasn't the best Christmas, but it was okay. The only bad parts were my throat and my mom's quiche. After we opened all of our presents, we headed over to my memaw's. By that time I could tell that my throat was already getting a little better. We opened some more presents, ate, and then we went to my other mamaw's. When we were over there I was feeling a lot better. I felt like I had twice as much energy. We opened some more presents and then we sat around a while and talked with relatives. By the end of the night I was almost fully recovered and my sister was getting what I had. I was ready to go home and get some rest so I could be ready to play with all my toys that I had got.
