Basketball is My Favorite Sport, 2006, by John

Who: John What: Basketball When: May 2006 Where: Ohio
Basketball has been my favorite sport forever. It started when I got my first nice basketball hoop in our backyard. We got it in 1996 and it was a Gorilla rim, the biggest they had. I would have been eight when we got it. From there on I always liked to play basketball. Before I played soccer or baseball.
I have a lot of people that gave me inspiration. My brother with his hard work in the game has been an inspiration. I've always been a fan of Michael Jordan. My latest favorite player is LeBron James. I think he is the best player in the NBA right now. My favorite player ever though would be Pete Maravich also known as Pistol Pete. I think he is the best player ever. He had great ball handling and great passes. He could score from any where. He is my biggest inspiration for basketball.
A moment that I wish would last would be when I was in the championship game in a Nike league I was in. It was the best game I ever had. I was making my shots even when I was fouled. I shot a three in this kid's face that was trash talking. I was hitting all my free throws. I was crossing people over. I was making great passes. The last move in the game I did was when I came down court on a fast break, two kids tried to trap me and I went between the legs right pass them. Then one kid stepped up to guard me and I did a behind the back pass to my team mate for the last point in the game. The game was over and we won.
