Fun Times at the Creek, by M.B.
Ever since I’ve moved my siblings and I have missed our creek that we had. It was the best creek ever. Every time we went through it we would always get so soaked and muddy but it was worth it. It was a normal summer day when my brothers said that they wanted to head to the creek. So my sister and I decided to join them for some fun, because there was nothing better to do. When we all got our shoes on we walked towards the short path to the creek. When we finally reached the creek we all tried to cross to the other side of it, trying not to get wet. We followed a little stream that led off the creek to a hill and we climbed up it. We walked to a tree that had fallen over and we all tried to walk across it without losing our balance. For some odd reason we always did this. Then my sister, Allison, took us to a tree that had fallen across the creek. We walked across it and tried not to fall into the creek which was maybe three feet below. My brothers, Carson and Cameron, tried to act brave and walked across the tree first, but Allie and I just laughed. Once we were finished with that we went back towards the main part of the creek. We turned to the left and walked down the stream of water. We came to a spot that was on our neighbor's property. For some reason we always thought that our neighbors would get mad at us if they saw us running through their part of the creek. So when we came to that part we tried to rush without them seeing us. It was difficult though because this was a deeper part of the creek and we didn't' want to get wet. Luckily my siblings and I made it. Carson, Cameron, Allie, and I came to a place we always stopped at. There was a Coca-Cola bottle stuck in the mud on the side of a very tiny cliff next to the creek. This was really weird but we just took rocks and threw them at the bottle and whoever got it out of the mud won. We kept walking through the creek soaked and muddy. Then we came upon a deep part and we all walked through it unwillingly because there was no other way across. Suddenly Allie started screaming loudly. She thought she had felt a snake brush her leg when she was trotting through the water. We got so scared because we thought something was attacking her, but it turned out to be a clump of mud. Finally we had reached the end. We climbed over a tree log, walked out of the woods, and onto the end of our street. As we walked back towards our house we talked about how muddy and gross we were. Running up our steep driveway, we raced back up to the house. We headed to the backyard and started to wash ourselves off with the hose. Then it turned out to be a huge water fight and we were twice as wet as we were before, but hey, at least we were clean. While we dried off in the sun, my brothers were talking about how we should go to the creek more often. Soon, all of us were talking about how much fun it was in the creek and all of the neat things we did. That is when I realized that just doing something fun with your siblings can help you get along better with them. Being in the creek was sort of like a mini hike. Everyone helps each other out and is worried when someone gets hurt. Those times at the creek will always be remembered.
