We got the word to mobilize early in the morning and we deployed with stealth around the neighborhood where the informant had reported the brothers were staying. The war began in March, but these would be the high valued targets we had encountered. They were at the top of the deck, they were Aces. Uday and Qusay Hussein were known for their brutuality and they were now trapped. I was a medic with the 101st Airborne and we were attached to Task Force 20, a team of special ops soldiers, who had the goal to capture or kill VIP targets. We surrounded the house, but the brothers were alert. Machine gun fire erupted and woke up the sleepy neighborhood. We took up defensive positions and returned fire. The special operators got on a bullhorn and demanded the brothers surrender. The request was answered with an RPG fired at our position. The firefight went on for about an hour, but we were careful, since we had the brothers cornered. We did not want to waste any lives on storming the building. Air support was called in and the helicopters came and fired missles into the building. Our tanks and mortars fired upon the building also. A few rockets were launched into the building and machine gun fire from our side turned the building into swiss chesse. The brothers were not firing at us anymore. We stormed the building by late afternoon to discover one brother dead and another dying. I could not help but to think justice had been served to the murderers of thousands Iraqis. As I looked down on their bodies, I could only think one thing-Scum! I spit on them. Another soldier, said that was too good for them and urinated on them. Burn in hell boys, burn in hell.
