This article is for iMAC users who would want to upgrade their IMAC Memory. But before that you need to identify your iMAC first. After you have identified your memory, you should now be ready. Installing IMAC Memory involoves only four simple procedures. first, you need to turn off your computer. Second, you would have to open the entire system so you will be able to go to the third procedure. The third would be to insert the IMAC Memory module into the specific slot for it.
Keep in mind that you need to have a service provider install memory that is authorized by Apple. They, Apple, doesn’t provide a phone support for upgrading memory. For instruction on how you can contact Apple for service, try consulting support information that come with your pc instructions. Once you install it yourself which is actually risky to damaging your computer, this would not be covered by your computer’s warranty.
To install memory, follow these instuctions carefully. It is important to take note that using powered screwdriver might damage your computer’s screws. So as much as possible stay away from those. If your conputer is turned on, choose Shut Down on the Menu to turn it off. Then unplug all cables from your computer including power cords. If your computer is secured, remove the security cable from the handle to unlock it. Place cloth on the surface. Place the soft clean cloth under your monitor. Lift and turn the computer up so its screen will face down the cloth. Unscrew the lower back cover. Grab the plastic handle and pull away the cover. Remove the cover using the handle. Set aside the cover. Release the cables. Disconnect all four of them to the main logic board. Remove the two screws inside the plastic handle. Pull the handle straight up and out the computer gently. Put the logic drive on a clean soft surface. Lift both sides to snap off the metal shield. Remove the metal shield. To install, align the DRAM DIMM in the DRAM slots and push it down until it will snap into place. Snap again the metal shield into place. Put the screws back in the plastic handle. Reconnect all the cables and put back the srews on the lower back cover.
